Napalm in the Morning: Who Should McCain Pick for VP?

A wonderful Monday morning to you folks under the big top. As the countdown continues to the "Debacle in Denver", the Circus has focused on who McCain should pick for his running mate. After all, its all about keeping up with the "Joneses" right?

I've been thinking long and hard about who would make the best candidate, right here, right now, given the current state of the campaign and in response to the Biden selection, and I've got to tell you folks, the big top might just explode over this one.

So, without further ado, my recommendation, for the next Vice-President of the United States of America is:
That's right folks, is the current Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, a pick that would possibly put the Obama/Biden camp on the ropes, if not land a knock-out blow.

Rice began her political career in 1986 serving as a Special Assistant to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, giving her almost 23 years of political experience, enough to take the "Joe Biden is the authority on politics argument off the table."

Further, she'd take the teeth out of the "Attack Dog of the Ticket" Biden, as she is an excellent orator who has taken on the leaders of many countries who have no respect for the United States and wish it's immediate demise.

It would be a great pick to swoon women voters, who feel alienated by the Obama snub on Hillary.

And lastly folks, it would take the incendiary race card off the table. For far too long, the opponents have allowed the Obama camp to drop it over. It's become the popular opinion of the left that the only way Obama can lose if it is because of his race, which to me is a huge step backwards and a slap in the face to the works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights activists. Rice herself had to overcome the "Jim Crow" south as a youth in Birmingham.

Folks, this campaign isn't about race, it's about selected the best candidate to lead our country in difficult times. It wasn't our choice to be attacked on 9/11, it wasn't our wishes for the middle east to tighten the screws down on oil, and it damn sure isn't our hopes and dreams to confront a "nuked-up" Iran or a reverted Russian government; but it is the era that we live in, and we must, to protect the sovereignty of this great country, stand up and do so. To use these issues as tools to pick away at and blame the right is damn near criminal.

Rice's leadership, background and experience would make for an excellent ticket, and because of her qualities, she takes away everything the Obama camp has been running with. All they would be left with is the nebulous ideas of "Hope and Change."

I think she's too close to Bush, plus she has been less than ideal on North Korea, Iran, Russia-Georgia, and Hezbollah.

I'd prefer Michael Steele or Sarah Palin.

I like Sarah Palin. She is no nonsense, has experience in domestic policy (is the governor of Alaska), and liked by members of both parties.

Condi Rice has very little experience in governing. She has been an ineffective Sec. of State.

It is a shame that Colin Powell won't run. That is one man I respect very much and would vote for an McCain/Powell ticket in a heartbeat. It would be 2 American Heroes vs. 2 American Losers.
